Uptown Neighborhoods

When my parents came up here for parent’s weekend, I took advantage and asked them to take me to Whole Foods to get a serious supply of good food (The OR’s great and all but it definitely gets old.) After 2 days of constant comfort food eating at some great restaurants, we decided we’d benefit from the two mile or so walk to lower Magazine Street from campus. The random street we ended up walking down the mile or so direct to Magazine is honestly one of the most beautiful streets/ neighborhoods I’ve ever seen. I think it needs to be pointed out that a simple walk through an Uptown New Orleans street is such eye candy, like what one would expect from some fancy European village in Switzerland or something. Just the combination of Oak trees, amazingly unique/diverse and old-style architectured homes, and those gardens… it makes something about the scenery so inexplicably gorgeous. I think people take better care of their front yard gardens here than they do at Disney World.  There’s a reason it’s called the Garden District. What was originally going to be a simple walk to run an errand ended up being like going sight seeing. It's hard to go wrong going for a walk Uptown.
