Magazine Street

One day my friend Sydney and I decided to go on a walk.  We started walking down Freret Street and stopping in every store we saw.  There is this cool comic store that we spent so long walking around and looking at their vintage comics and books.  There was also this animal shelter which allows people to take home a dog for the day and walk it and play with it so that the dogs can get out of the shelter once in a while.  We continued down Freret then when we reached the end, we walked all the way to Jefferson and then down to Magazine Street to go exploring.  We ended up talking to this thirty-year old woman from New York who moved to New Orleans years ago.  She was telling us all the great places to go, and told us about all of the boutique stores around.  She recommended that we go to Mahony’s on Magazine to get some po’boys and they were so good.  We talked to her for about an hour and then we realized that we had walked over eight miles and decided to go back to school.  Despite how tired I was, it was one of the first times I had ever walked around Uptown and I really loved seeing the neighborhood.
