Given the fact that I’m from Puerto Rico it is very
expensive and complicated to go back home for breaks. This means that I stayed
in New Orleans during Thanksgiving break. My friend Bennett Hendricks invited
me to go have dinner at his house but before actually sitting down and having
dinner we wen to the Fair Grounds to go bet on horses at the horse races going
on. I had never in my life attended such an event. It was amazing. People of
all ages and all social classes dressed to impress on Thanksgiving Day. We got
to bet on the horses we wanted and watch a race from the sideline. Watching the
jockeys race was so exciting I even felt a sort of adrenaline rush. It was a
very unique experience for me.
