Frady's Food Shop

Located in the Middle of the dichotomously bohemian and gritty Bywater, Frady’s food shop is a gem of a place, full of heart and very welcoming. Also, it doesn’t hurt that there were mini bite size muffalettas for a dollar. We bought 5. It was owned by a delightful married couple, who sat behind their counter at the meat cutter, or entertaining the small group of locals who obviously hang out there every weekend morning for some chicory coffee or a sandwich. It is friendly places like this where you realize that this exists nowhere else. Talking to the owner, she said that her father had bought the store 40 years ago, and before that, it had been in the Bywater for another 40 years or so. And since then, it has stayed in the family. It has no frills, but unbounding character. I recommend it to anyone, because their Po-Boys. Good Lord!!! Freaking amazing
