Experiencing The Bywater

When I traveled to the Bywater for the first time I did not know what to expect. I had never heard about the neighborhood until this class. I asked my mom if she knew about it because she grew up here and she had no idea about it either. What I saw when I went there though was oh-so familiar. It was bohemian, hip, and all-natural, just like Austin! I felt so at home when I went into the organic foods grocery store. Knowing that there is an area in New Orleans that is very similar to the hippie town of Austin makes me so incredibly happy. I know where I will be when I am feeling homesick. If I ever get a car I want to work there!
